Local Arts Education Advocacy Efforts

California Alliance for Arts Education (CAAE)
San Diego is participating in the Local Advocacy Network Project through CAAE which empowers communities to advocate for arts education on a state and local level. Business, community, education, parent, and arts organization leaders convene to identify common concerns and goals for their region. The goal is to build capacity in these communities and help them start and sustain successful advocacy efforts.

South Bay
The South Bay Alliance for Arts Education is a cadre of community arts leaders who serve as advocates for arts education programs in the Sweetwater Union High School District, the National School District, the Chula Vista Elementary School District, San Ysidro School District, and the South Bay Union School District. Their current effort is to survey the candidates who are currently running for school board elections in November to determine their support of arts education. San Diego
San Diego Alliance for Arts Education is working in partnership with The San Diego Foundation. This grassroots coalition believes that all students have a right to have equal access to a quality education that includes the arts in the San Diego Unified School District and beyond. First year goals include: learning about what is possible in arts education reform, building relationships with decision makers, and becoming informed about the issues, ballot measures, and school board candidates who will make a difference.
